Our rooms are spacious and oceanfront. Our amenities include a fresh water pool and on site coin laundry.

Our amenities also include BBQ grills and picnic tables oceanfront, children's playground area, oceanfront pool, guest laundry, ice, and vending area, and room phones for family back home to make contact while you are enjoying your stay with us.

There are many other activities to enjoy, such as riding the island trolley that takes guests on tours of our island and it stops right in front of our motel. Also enjoy the North Carolina Aquarium, newly reopened and 4 times larger than before -- a MUST for everyone to see while you are here. The USS North Carolina Battleship in Wilmington, just 15 minutes away -- the technology that existed to build a vessel like this is certainly worth the trip, and if you really want to be impressed, go at night and see the light show. And although there are many more points of interest, like beautiful flower gardens, water parks, amusement park, nature trips by foot or by canoe, the Civil War Museum located at Fort Fisher is a very educational trip back into the history of Pleasure Island. And last but not least, for those who love to fish or to just walk off dinner, the Kure Pier is just steps away from the South Wind Motel.

We believe we have the best location and service on the island. As you consider a place to enjoy a few days off, a holiday weekend or a well deserved vacation, may we invite you to look at what our location has to offer. First of all, Kure Beach is one of the quietest family beaches on the Atlantic Ocean, lots of families but uncrowded, and no high rise buildings. Our location provides conveniences that are a few feet north of our property and just across the street, such as Kwik Mart food, gas and the largest seafood restaurant on the island. There are three other restaurants, shops and a fishing pier that are adjacent to our property via the side walk. Three miles away you will find an amusement park with rides for all ages, and many more shops and restaurants. There are many other things to see and do like the North Carolina Aquarium, the U.S.S North Carolina Battleship and Fort Fisher Civil War Museum.
