Our small town atmosphere is centered around the beloved Ol' Gal as they call her, the famous Kure Beach Pier, the oldest fishing pier on the Atlantic Coast. Several unique restaurants line the main street, as well as our Oceanfront Park, and everything is just a short walk next door from your room at South Wind.

Things to Do in Kure Beach

Kure Beach is conveniently located 2 miles from historic Ft. Fisher Historic Site and Museum, NC Aquarium, and NC Ferry routes to Southport and Bald Head Island to our south. We are minutes from all types of shopping, dining and deep sea fishing charters and the Carolina Beach Boardwalk to our north, and from there you're only 10 miles from the City of Wilmington with its picturesque Downtown Riverwalk along the historic Cape Fear River.

QUIET AND EASY ACCESS "Spent several days at the beach for my grandson's birthday. The room had an excellent view of the beach. The location was perfect for visiting the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher. There are several friendly nearby eateries as well. No pets are allowed and we had a non-smoking room, which was perfect."

INEXPENSIVE, CLEAN AND GREAT VIEWS OF THE OCEAN! “My husband and I needed a place to stay at the last minute this past Saturday. I wasn't expecting much when we stayed here because of the inexpensive price and reviews I had read on other websites. I was honestly pleasantly surprised. We had an oceanfront room on the third floor. Our view from the room was great! The room was clean and nice. The motel was well-lit at night, so I felt safe walking to my room when we arrived. The customer service provided by the staff was phenomenal. I would definitely stay here again!”
