Kure Beach is conveniently located 2 miles from historic Ft. Fisher Historic Site and Museum, NC Aquarium, and NC Ferry routes to Southport and Bald Head Island to our south. We are minutes from all types of shopping, dining and deep sea fishing charters and the Carolina Beach Boardwalk to our north, and from there you're only 10 miles from the City of Wilmington with it's picturesque Downtown Riverwalk along the historic Cape Fear River.
Just a two minute walk from our location, the Kure Beach Pier is a staple among our community, making a name for itself for multiple reasons. The Pier was originally constructed in 1923, making it the longest fishing pier on the east coast. At over 700 feet long, there is plenty of room for tourists and anglers alike to enjoy the beautiful view of the Atlantic Ocean as well as the radiant Kure Beach weather.
The Fort Fisher State Recreation Area is one of the best places to go if you love being outdoors and spotting wildlife. The area is a favorite for birders year-round, being home to quite a few distinct bird species. During the warmer months, visitors can spot scores of the iconic loggerhead sea turtle as they nest in the sand along the shores of the park.
This park is one of the few places around that allows four-wheel drive beach access, making it perfect for those who want to try their hand at surf fishing. Visitors can also enjoy the two trails found here.
If you are looking for a family friendly activity that is sure to excite and entertain, you need to check out the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.
The aquarium is a wonderful place for visitors of all ages to learn more about our planet’s oceans and the amazing creatures that live there. Children will especially enjoy the touch experiences that feature pencil urchins, sea stars, yellow stingrays, and more.
